Dark brown, or Medium brown hair with red highlights?

I have green eyes with a blue ring around them and an orange ring in them. I have medium white skin. My hair come about 1.5 inches past my collar bone. I have shaggy bangs that go straight across but I like wearing them as side sweep. I have short raver cut layers. What do you think? I really want to dye my hair brown, But I'm not sure which shade of brown. Medium or dark? I don't want it so dark that it looks practically BLACK. I want a nice soft color. Which one goes better with dark red, auburn highlights? Can you also give me some pictures? Please and thank you!
