From which language does the word 'chai' meaning tea originate?

I'm Arab and the word for tea in Arabic is chai. However chai is also used in many other languages including punjabi, urdu, hindi..I think swahili? Anyway I was just wondering if anyone knew about the etymology of the word. Thank you :)
