Is it possible for video game programmers to "hide" code from users to look at?

This relates to the black ops ascension easter egg, and im wondering if treyarch can hide coding so people dont possibly see the final easter egg coding. If you say yes im uming you have actual knowledge of this and not just crap from the top of your head.
