Should I have said something?

Unfortunately, you're not going to change someone's entire worldview just by "saying something" about his perception. Yes, his way of thinking seems absurd, not terribly Biblical, and oppressive, but if they're both happy with it, I guess it's not really hurting anyone. Saying something will only damage your friendship with him, and I seriously doubt that it will change their relationship at all. As long as he's not FORCING his wife into "servitude," I'd let it go and just accept the fact that sometimes people have strange ideas about marriage.
